Conducting a Freedom from Addiction Service
The links along the side of the page contain sermons and Scripture readings for use in a service relating to addictions and life-controlling habits. If you have a sermon to submit for this page, please email it to joe.f@cedarpark.org. We would like to add sermons from other church traditions.

Each Church has its own way of doing things. With cooperation from King County Public Health Department, we are urging churches to conduct their own event on an annual basis with emphasis upon freedom from addictions. The Lenten Season for Christians is a natural for this type of emphasis. Traditionally, Lent is the time when Christians bring their physical bodies under the discipline of the Spirit. It corresponds to the forty days that Jesus fasted in the wilderness. Our suffering with Christ during Lent allows us to rejoice more fully at his resurrection
